Raw Material Incoming Inspection: The First Gate of Forging Production
Anyone in the forging industry knows full well that blanking is a critical link in the entire forging process. Any deviation in the size or specification of the blank will affect all subsequent forging and machining processes. In mild cases, it leads to material and labor waste; in severe cases, the entire forging is scrapped directly. While this work may seem like simple steel cutting, it leaves absolutely no room for carelessness.

Most of the blanking operators at Qingliang Mould have been working with the company's forging business for many years, and have an in-depth and thorough understanding of the properties of various types of forging steel. Steels of different materials have distinct shrinkage rates during forging and required reserved machining allowances. They can strictly calculate the blanking dimensions and select the appropriate cutting method according to the forging drawings and forging process requirements, avoiding both excessive cutting that causes raw material waste and insufficient cutting that affects subsequent forging forming.

In daily operations, they never work in isolation. Instead, they coordinate in advance with the forging and machining teams to confirm the process details of each batch of forgings. When faced with blanking requirements for special materials or special-shaped parts, personnel from relevant positions will work together to finalize the solution, avoiding unnecessary adjustments in subsequent processes. In their spare time, the team members also gather to exchange experience. Senior employees train new hires to familiarize them with steel properties and blanking parameter calculation. They also learn the operation methods of new blanking equipment and new process requirements in the forging industry, growing together with the company's forging business. For many years, with their solid professional skills, they have guarded this critical link for the company's forging production.
